The Sky View High School Band is in need of a new set of Congas. The Conga is an African drum used in numerous pieces of percussion literature, as well as band literature. Our current Congas are over 14 years old, and they have a huge crack down the middle! We need your help!
The Percussion Ensemble at Sky View High School recently performed at the Demolition Derby in Logan. We are hoping to perform more around the community, and these Congas will help us expand our repertoire.
As a teacher, I also find it important to teach the students about multi-cultural percussion. Since Conga's come from Africa, this provides our students here at Sky View with an opportunity to learn complex African rhythms and drum beats.
